The issue is that there are SO FEW people paying for premium here, I think there will be no impact on the volume of sales.

The bigger picture is that this site is being subsidized as it is - it makes less per month than a teenager flipping burgers.

I appreciate the worries about the price rise - but please rather than be critical maybe offer some other suggestions as to how to generate revenue, because the site is not commercially viable as it is with current pricing.

I think Brenda's been detecting a whiff of socialism, judging by her last post. A red rag to an American bull! ...but I certainly see where she's coming from.

Free membership must always allow people to get a taste of what can be done. That's the basic "try before you buy" thing. But currently the bar is set far too low, in favour of the freebie folks.

How's about limiting Status posts to something like 2 a week, and only 2 replies. Only 20 photo views a week. And photo uploads reduced to (say) 5 a week.

But let those freebie folks view (say) 5 big pics or 1 video per week, and one cam, just so they can get a taste of what we paying members get.

That's just off the top my my head, in response to Admin's appeal for suggestions.

I can see where Brenda’s coming from. Just looking through the site photos and I notice there are one heck of a lot of ‘freebie’ members, some who have been on the NN sites for 5 or even 10 years and are still non-premium, literally using the funds paid by premium members (which help keep the site up and running) to post their photos etc., Increasing prices will only discriminate against the premium members, while the non premium will keep posting and using the site with no obligations whatever.

I think Joanna’s idea is a good one. Give them a ‘taste’ yes, BUT after that, if they want to continue, make them pay for it. And LOWER the prices, not increase them, and see if you do end up with more paying members. It’d be worth trying out. After all, if increased fees are likely to see fewer members paying for premium, then the site is going to be in even more financial stress than it is now.

The NN group seems to be amongst the very few Internet sites of it type that has lasted all these years, so they must have something going for them. Let’s see the non-premiums finding similar sites and I’d say they’ll be out of luck, as I haven’t found any or at least, any that are as good and as well managed as this one.

And surely with Brenda, something should be done to stop freebies uploading so many pics cause most of them shouldn't even be on here lately I don't enjoy this side like I used to!!!! On the site info pages, Admin says that "Standard membership is totally free and will always be so" but that's no reason why the gap shouldn't be widened between what freebies get and what Premium get.

Admin also says that "As we have continually stated we will not be removing any existing functionality for non paying users" ... but of course that doesn't mean that quotas of access can't be altered. And also the page says "We will simply be adding extra functionality to reward those that support us" and of course that's good if and when it happens. But it's not enough to justify the current price increase.

I'm in agreement with the gurls on this.. It seems to boil down to the question "Why pay a high price for membership when using the site for free seems to work fine?" Well it's a good site for Tgurls and many of us want to support the site. I agree though that Admin should limit the freebie use of the site, motivate and encourage gurls to join up! Raising the member fee will cause a drop in sign-ups

The thing is - if we restrict free membership a lot more, like say reduce the pics you can post and the number you can view as a free member etc, it means you Premium members will have less viewers - less comments and less photos / videos to look at!

Brenda's idea is to go the extreme and have it premium only, period. How would you gurls feel if it was just the premiums uploading, commenting and in chat / status etc? Would you like that?

If we went down that path (Brenda's one) then we would probably make premium $5 a month or something like that to appeal to a wider audience.

I want people to have the option to "try before they buy" for one reason - and that's because it's what I did, back before my days as Joanna Slinky.

When I first found this site, back in 2005, I joined as JoannaUK and I was a freeloader (as Brenda would probably call it). When I got more used to what the site could do, I gradually thought hmmm I wanna join. And then 9.9 years ago I did just that.... and have paid out for Premium ever since!

But the critical point is this: I would NEVER have paid a penny, had I not been allowed to try the site free for nearly 18 months first.

$ 5 per month or say, about $1.25 per week. It’s not all that much. You’d think that most people could afford that, even those on benefits. After all, when a glass of beer is nearly $ 4 and a packet of cigarettes is $25. (well out here in Aus., it is!), it’s cheap by comparison. But for some reason, while people seem happy to pay for other things, they seem to expect the Internet is going to be free, and don’t realise (or care) that someone has to fork out for the server, web, and bandwidth etc., costs.
The other alternative is to bring in advertising, which comes with its own drawbacks. Constant ‘pop-ups/unders' and the risks of virus and malware embedded in it. And even having advertisers accessing your private information. In the end you can lose a lot of the control you have over your own site. If we went this way, I’m sure there'd be howls of protest before too long.

As Joanna says, ‘Give ‘em a taste’ (say, 3 - 6 months ), then severely limit their future ability to participate and see if they are serious enough about the site to become premium members. If not, then I guess they’ll just have to find another similar and ‘free’ site and good luck with that!

I think Wanda has a good point; if you want to try & see how you like things, that's fine, but after a while everyone should share the responsibility of making the sure the site is viable. When i first found the site, i decided to try it out & after a short time, decided that it was what i wanted, much better than many other sites i had tried, & i went ahead & paid for a premium membership. So now i've been a member here for 8.5 years, & almost all of that time i've been a premium member, for over 8 years now. ALL OF US need to do our part to keep things going here. I know there are 10+ year members who aren't supporting the site because they are STILL free members, & that just isn't right, IMHO.

It shouldn't be possible for a freebie member to be here for 10 years and still be having loads of privileges. I definitely support Brenda's stance on that.

I am convinced that this is the best site out there today....for the average joe 6 pack. But its about the interest level in the member. I think for the paying member...its a serious hobby..and for many a real life style. Yet also for many...not so much. If you can get almost the same benefits by not paying...why pay? A person can swoop in and out of here...get off...and cum back months later. I think price reduction may raise income. I think a limited time free member good...yet limited. Maybe a lower cost for new members...then a price increase over a three period. If a member makes it 5 years...reduce the cost back to the original lower price. Perhaps a lifetime free for a ten year payer. Big bucks can be made for tapping a lot of people for a couple of bucks...but not so much for say 50 bucks. Would advertisers be willing to pay for a spot? How about real transgender groups...not just porn. What about that market? The trans movement is huge today...worldwide. A one stop shop for almost any lifestyle. I think the site is to big...to go small...and to small to go big. A lot of business suffers this. Incentives work. Add up the money. Over the years, I've seen on NBN / NTN / NN, a tendency for our boss (Admin) to not listen to us very much.

OK, admittedly, a handful of the NTN / NN members are a bit out to lunch. But I've seen some good ideas in the past just get ignored, as if they were shit, and it's a bit disheartening when that happens. Brenda and I have seen that happen quite often, and it's most annoying.

And (while I think of it) when was the NN Mod Squad last consulted on a matter of policy, over on that site?

i have to agree with a lot of the points that Brenda has raised, because i personally, although not to the extent that Brenda does, DO see this site as a wonderful place for gurls like me & her, who prefer the CD-trans kind of lifestyle & are invested in it. PLEASE make sure that whatever is decided is presented to folks like us, who do & who HAVE BEEN supporting the site for years, so that we can have some comments about what is going to happen, & give us an opportunity to buy-in to the proposed changes, Boss.

speaking as one who took advantage of the offer by virtue of my subscription being up for renewal i'm a very happy bunny. i would probably have renewed anyway as i am happy with the continued benefits of membership i.e. the cam and the video options. however i don't feel that there is enough distinction between the members and non-members.
perhaps uploads should be limited,restrictions on messaging for non-members. Why not try a week's free membership for all those that post a confirmed photo,include a thumbnail vid option on chat like in the hetero site for members with perhaps a limited time per day 30 mins say for non-members. these are used on other sites i frequent and on a couple i did join up and others i didn't. it goes without saying the ones i joined are active sites still to this day and the others i don't visit any more.

I have not read the full thread but I think that the Free loaders access should be reduced and always have. Take away some of the freebies and nudge them toward premium. Some advertising as on Other sites might also help, but that would take marketing skills.

Ok - I am still here reading with interest...

Let me say as far as features go and new ones at that - trying trying trying - but have very little technical resources and hence why trying to increase revenue. Not trying to increase revenue for my pocket believe me I just want more coding resources so that I can build my true vision for this platform which believe me includes amazing features and improvements to what is already here.

I can say at this point - as a result of reading your views - I will NOT increase prices here. So rest easy on that.

I am going to explore limiting the free features more and we will just see how that goes as far as is there still enough participation.

Also - Video Chat - I am working to bring that here to NTN soon.
