Also, you can redact your ID so that it doesnt show your surname, ID number, Day or month of birth - just blank them out! Your ID is then totally safe and cant be used by dubious characters

If one was to break the law, there would still be enough in the ID for govt agencies (and importantly no-one else) to identify any offender.
