I think there WAS an issue where "pure gay" pics (i.e no girliness in evidence) pictures were being removed using the pretext of one or other of the rules.

Hopefully that has now ceased.

Not kicking off, just seeking confirmation for the avoidance of doubt.

In the beginning, Graeme created a site. Newbiebudes (NN).
Later, he created a site for the gay community and called it "NewBoyNudes" (the original NBN).
As it fairly common, the NBN site attracted the Transgendered community (even though not all TGs are gay/bi)
As time went by, and more TGs joined, the name was changed to "NewBudNudes" (the current NBN)
After a while, the "pure gays" started complaining that "their" site had been hijacked by TVs, so Greame set up "NewDudeNudes" (NDN) to cater for them.
... and later , to complete the set, created a lesbian site, "NewGalNudes" (NGN)

So, that answers the question as to why there are four sites.

The thing about the whole Str8LGBT community is that boundaries are blurred. No more so than in the TG section. Within the others, the mix and match of participants is relatively well defined. On NDN, guys are looking for guys, for example.

On NBN, the TVs are not all looking to only communicate with other TVs. Just read the sexual discussion and erotic stories forums to get an idea of now many TVs want to hook up with an admirer. NBN's participants are TVs seeking TVs, TVs not seeking anyone and TVs seeking admirers. To accommodate that last (and by far the largest) sector, we need to welcome admirers.

Most of the people who visit this site to look at pics want to see pics of t-girls. There is no reason, however, why our admirers shouldn't post pics for TVs to look at. After all, how often in the chatrooms (here and elsewhere) do people say "no pic, no chat". Admirers want to show off their wares, TVs might want to see what they're getting

So, for the benefit of the majority of the site, I see no reason why admirers shouldn't post pic of themselves.

There are also the cases of "old" NBN members who were here before the split - some of whom have paid subscriptions.

I do appreciate that there are some who don't want to look at cock pics. To be honest, I am one - they simply don't turn me on.

So, the best solution is to have "Hide Dicks" options, like on NN. That way, there would be no acrimony over the genre of pics posted.

I know I was called a "liberal", in a way that somehow made it an insult, but as a member of a highly persecuted community, I can't help feel that it's just wrong to exclude any other minority that is closely allied to us.

As you say, there are four sites and there is a lot of crossover between them. For example, there is a "lesbians" photo category on NN. If we were setting firm boundaries, then they should only ever appear on NGN. On the other hand, a lot (and I mean a lot) of guys are turned on by lesbian action. So, the distinction of what's appropriate for only one site is a bit blurred.

On here, there are specific male categories (e.g. Dicks, Hairy, Mature Men), so there is no intention of the site owner to exclude all men - as indeed you recognise. An old naked guy flashing his hairy dick is clearly allowed.

So, what it comes down to is "male gay sex" pics. Are there really so many of these that allowing them on the site would cause a lot of grief? I am not interested in them, generally, but I just tune them out - in much the same way as I do to other things I am not interested in.

If male gay sex pics are the sole target of your pruning shears, then provided the posters are informed why and suggested that they post on NDN instead, then I don't really have a problem with that. It's not like you need my permission, obviously, but do bear in mind that I was a mod here long before you joined, so I am aware of a lot of history here and what the job's like It's not an easy job, I know - for example, there are some pics posted today by ec636, which appear to be pure gay sex (BJ), but if you look at some of the other pictures in the set, one of them is wearing stockings. Tricky, huh?

One problem is that in Jan 2013 when NDN was created for the gays, and NBN was redesignated from gay to gurlie, the upload categories weren't adjusted to match the apparent new purposes of the two sites - except for the bar on crossdresser uploads on NDN.

Additionally, gays who'd paid for Premium suddenly found themselves stranded on the 'wrong' site.

This leaves moderators treading a difficult path. Personally, I unhesitatingly remove what I consider to be 'hard-core gay' such as soundings, as I think they belong on NDN. Some months ago, I saw a bunch of such pix from a newbie, and messaged him, telling him about NDN and inviting him to put the pictures there instead. He did.

Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed the newbie had stockings on, and I later got some stick from the NDN mods, wondering why on earth I'd given them the bother of modding-off a bunch of crossdresser pix. (They're pretty ruthless about anything that looks fem, over there! A hint of frilly bits, and it's off.)

The natives are revolting, eh?

In fairness to Mr NN, the software updates started to happen within a few weeks (improved front page, etc) but it was on the NN site alone. He did tell me that he'd give some attention to NBN "when he wasn't having to spend 14 hrs a day on NN" - which is a horribly open-ended commitment, of course.

But one can't really blame him for initially prioritising on a site that's 20 times as popular as NBN (or maybe more). More recently, they've now got the Profile Reporting button for use by non-freebies, and the Moderator Gag, for instance.

One day soon, I'll seek to get an indication of when the new software might be copied over to NBN. And I daresay it's not only Jackie who's wondering what "soon" means!

I don't like the tone of the last four posts, and much of the content is pretty dubious as well. If someone's participation is mostly Forum-oriented then I don't see anything wrong with that. And Mini and I sometimes don't agree on site procedure but life's like that sometimes.
