This site needs a 'mission statement' at the top of every log-in page

This site needs a text statement (a 'mission statement') at the top of every log-in page, telling people what the site is for ... and new arrivals who break that condition are kicked straight off the site. No warnings.

That's my thinking, anyway

It needs something! (but Mission statements are so 1980s)

If you are a new user, signing up, the form says "By joining this site, you agree to the terms and conditions of use". That's fine, but there is no way to find out what those T&Cs are at that point. There needs to be a link.

I don't like "without warning". Members should be given the benefit of the doubt and transgressions should be pointed out with the opportunity for redemption.
